Dramatic Pieces Portraying Children?

2 replies [Last post]

Hello everyone! I'm asking if any of you guys happen to know any dramatic pieces where the actor/actress is portraying a child?

I personally would recommend looking through memoirs and historical pieces, depending on your interests. A lot of Holocaust stories are told from a child because of the time frame, and it is that way with most historical events. Also, memoirs almost always include childhood, so maybe finding the life you want to portray is the way to go. Last year there was this successful piece within my district that portrayed the child of one of the teachers that died on the Challenger, but I apologize for not knowing what it is called. Good luck!

I would also research titles of Young Adult Literature to get some ideas.

Some ideas:
The classic "Eleven" by Cisneros
The Book of Lost Things (might be better suited as an HI? It's been awhile since I've read this, tbh.)
The Book Thief
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Lord of the Flies
