Bonjour

Hello everyone!

For those of you who aren't familiar with me, my name is Nick Matthews. Michael Sarill has brought me on here as a blogger for the website and I'm very excited to become a part of the forensics community here.

At the moment I am a first-year undergraduate at the University of California, Los Angeles, where I plan to pursue a degree in political science. I am also a member of the UCLA debate team, competing in both parliamentary and NFA-LD debate. As a high school debater, I competed in policy debate for four years at CK McClatchy High School in Sacramento, CA. My senior year, I was named team captain and qualified to the CHSSA (California) state tournament, NCFL Grand Nationals, and NFL Nationals. I also cleared to elimination rounds at many local and regional tournaments in Northern California.

I was very minimally involved in individual events. I competed in a handful of Rotary Club original oratory contests, and managed to bring home a couple hundred dollars in scholarship cash (seriously, kids, the folks at your local Rotary Club will just throw money at you if you know where to look for it).

I also enjoy judging at high school tournaments - you might see me around at tournaments like Long Beach, USC and Cal Berkeley.

Feel free to add me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ncmatthews

If you have any questions about forensics in general, feel free to contact me and I would be happy to assist you with your needs.

- Nick
