As a new season of Forensics begins, competitors and coaches and enthusiasts alike are all preparing for this year's batch of excellent performances.  Who are the performers to watch?  Which pieces will succeed?  It is all unknown currently, but that is part of the fun of a new, fresh season.  Guessing and watching competitors grow.

What Public Forum Teams will Dominate in 2010-2011

So.... these are my predictions for which teams will thrive in the 2010-2011 season.

1. Chaparral (AZ)- Jackson Arn

-Jackson Arn and his partner Neel Rao (graduated) finished 5th at the NFL National Tournament

- Beat University RD (NFL National Champions) on a 3-0 decision in Round 13 at NFL

NFL Debate Topics (September)

The National Forensic League has released the new debate topics.  There are as follows:

Policy Debate (2010-2011)

Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce its military and/or police presence in one or more of the following: South Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey.

Extemp Central National Points Race Predictions 2010-2011

Every year Extemp Central holds their National Points race which honors the best Extempers of the season.  For this upcoming 2010-2011 season, Extemp Central has released a list of the Top 10 Extempers to watch.  Predictions are based on results from last year.

Yale Invitational Registration NOW OPEN

The 18th Annual Yale Invitational is now open for registration! 

The Yale Invitational boasts:

TOC bids at:

  • quarterfinals of LD
  • octafinals in PF
  • finals in Student Congress

ALSO, is a fourth tier tourney in the Extemp Central National Points Race.

NFL Wants Public Forum Ideas

The National Forensic League is asking for all those interested in Public Forum to submit their ideas for 2010-2011 topics.  They only have one request, "idea e-mails should include a brief overview of the topic area being suggested and a list of possible resolution ideas on the topic area."  Topics can be anything "timely and relevant" to Public Forum competitors.
